Speed walking away with our legs tied together while carrying a tennis ball on a spoon, was me and my classmate Tyler. We zoomed off, determined to beat the other students in our classroom, We finnally beat the others in our heat and we were off to the play offs game, the play offs was a game that will decide which top 2 teams will represent our classroom in the finals against the top 2 teams from each of the 4 classes which are room 19,20,21 and room 22. Unfortunately we came up with an embarrasing defeat by the other teams in our class and we were not representing our classroom.

There were 4 games runned by the teachers from each of the four classrooms. My teacher Mr Hariss hosted the game we just previously played, Ms Tito hosted a game where we had to slingshot different types of balls and had to perfectly land or roll into the hoop. Mrs Lagitupu runned a game with us, which was basically like ball tiggie but you can't run with the ball and tag them.

My favourite team game of the day was runned by room 22's teacher Mrs Nua. We had to go in to 4 even teams. The aim of the game was the first team that could use a sponge by making it contain a heap of water and filling the empty bucket up, but we had to put the sponge side and under until it got to the last person who had to run with the sponge to the front of the line and refill it with water by just putting it in! The winner will be decided on which team filled the empty bucket up the most! My team had a strategy by just passing the sponge side by side so we could squeeze in a heap of water! Our strategy came out on top, We won all of our matches by just using the same strategy!

At the end of the day there were no finals, we were all mad but happy at the sametime because we had a very weird sports day. As I was strolling along the footpalth back to class, I thought to myself, "I can't wait until the next different kinds of silly and unique sport's day we are going to have"

“Who is this Napoleon guy, Everybody always talks about him back home,” Sarah exclaimed, “You dont know Napoleon! Napoleon is the most charismatic general in French history, He was the very first Emperor of France, He is very very famous in France.”
“Do you know a special place that honours Napoleon here in France?” asked Pethy,
“Are you going to question me all day?, Of course I know a place, I’ve lived here for over 40 years! It’s just a block away from the Eiffel Tower, you won’t miss it!”

Mount Albert is a volcanic peak and is a suburb area in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. Its postcode is 1025. This suburb is southwest just near the city centre, and is surrounded by 5 other suburbs of Owairaka, Sandringham, Morningside,Point Chevalier and Waterview. Unitec New Zealand (an institute of technology) is near the northern end of the suburb.

The peak, in parkland at the southern end of the suburb, is 135 metres in height, and is one of the many extinct cones which dot the city of Auckland, all of which are part of the Auckland Volcanic Field. It is one of Auckland's older cones, having been created some 50,000-60,000 years ago. It was the site of a pā, and was known as Owairaka. Extensive quarrying has reduced the height of the scoria cone by about 15 m and significantly altered its shape, but a few remnants of Maori earthworks like terracing, are still visible.

Mount Albert Grammar School "(M.A.G.S)" is a co-educational secondary school in Central Auckland. It teaches from year 9 to year 13. Mount Albert Grammar is one of the largest secondary schools in the country. It is also one of the most multi-cultural schools in New Zealand having over 60 different ethnic groups.

The 1st XV Rugby team has played since 1922 when it joined the Auckland Secondary Schools Rugby competition, winning the Championship in 1924 and 1925 . Since then it has won 19 times, the latest being 2010, winning back to back titles. It was also the New Zealand Champions in 1938, 1982 and 2010. In addition, the 1st XV has finished runners-up on numerous occasions, the most recent being runners-up to Gisborne Boys' High School in 2007.

Located near the Mount Albert shops on New North Road is Ferndale House. This wooden Gothic house was the home of the Garlick family who bequeathed it to the City. It is currently a community centre. The family firm Tonson Garlick manufactured furniture.

We are using the nations of the 2011 Rugby World Cup as our inquiry path.

For this unit we are in one of four teams:
Brumbies, Force, Rebels, Stormers.

My team is the Stormers!

There will be a number of tasks for us to navigate to achieve our goal of an excellent result in this unit. There are a mixture of individual and team tasks to be completed. The main task that will show our learning in this unit will be a Hyperstudio presentation about one of the countries in the World Cup competition.

My prediction on who's going to win the world cup is , The All Blacks. I think they have all that there is needed in rugby which is speed, power, aggressiveness and smart.

For the last few weeks Room 19 have been working on some designs and prototypes. First up we tried to identify some needs out in the street. Like for an example, what type of models that could try to influence students from walking around and eating to sitting down while they are eating.

Next we did some research on some modern designed models that captures other peoples eyes and stands out. I carefully chose a design that would observe other students.

My design I chose to create a prototype was a modern day couch. I used only three materials to create this prototype which was Cardboard, Tape and Newspaper. I painted the back pure white.

Steve Jobs invented the Personal Apple Computer to the solution of people not having their own personal computer at their own living room . He was the Co-Founder & CEO of Apple Computer and also Co-Founder & CEO, Pixar.

Steve Jobs was born February 24, 1955, Steve Graduated from Homestead High School, Los Altos, Calif. in 1972
Going to work for Atari after leaving Reed College, Jobs renewed his friendship with Steve Wozniak. The two designed computer games for Atari and a telephone "blue box", getting much of their impetus from the Homebrew Computer Club. Jobs was not interested in creating electronics and was nowhere near as good an engineer as Wozniak. Although he was not really interested in creating electronics, his business sense for the marketability of these products was the turning point. He asked his engineering friend Wozniak to help him build a personal computer.

1974: Video game designer for Atari; worked there several months; used savings to travel to India; returned to California and spent a brief time on a communal farm.

The past has changed and the future has arrived! Modern cars have changed over the past century, from an old, three-wheel car, into a flash four- wheel car.

The first petrol engine car to ever have been driven on land was driven by Karl Benz. (Karl Friedrich Benz, engine designer and car engineer.)

Henry Ford, the person who started the Ford Motor Company, had an idea of creating an assembly line. An assembly line is a way of creating new products, a safe and quick way of making products. Using this assembly line the Ford Motor Company has been successful by innovating in motor vehichles to be sold all around the world.

One of my highlights from last term was becoming a prefect, it was a privilege becoming one of 8 outstanding role models of this school. One of my favourite parts of being a prefect highlights of last term, was getting to greet visitors to our school and also thank special people.

One of my low lights from last term was coming 7th in our Auckland Softball Tournament. We were struggling having to play the top softball players in Auckland, so that tournament was like another nightmare.

What I’m looking forward to do this term is my rugby, I have been training for weeks now and started focusing on more skills of becoming a better, stronger and a faster player. I am very hyped for the Walter Dickson trials and the Bill Mclaren trials. I really hope I make it in to one these two Auckland rep teams.

Every school morning during literacy, We basically learn about different kinds of Nouns, Pro-nouns, Verbs, Adverbs and Adjectives. An example for an adverb would be, it will always usually end with a -ly and it describes where, when and how it's taking place.
Five different adverbs that describe this photo are:

2. Anxiously.
3. Quickly.
4. Accurately.
5. Angrily.

Dear Mum and Dad in Aussie,

I’m typing this post to let you know how I’m doing here inside school and outside school.

Camp was amazing, My favourite camp activity was Kayaking with Mr Burt. It was spectacular getting to drive Mr Molloy’s speed boat, and getting to kayak on the two-seater canoes which was called the ‘The Malibu Two.’

My group ‘THE RESPECTABLZ’ were the '2011 CAMP TAKE CHARGE CONCERT WINNERS’ we received 300 points and got awarded chocolates and a mixture of goodies.

That’s all I have to say from now on, I will keep giving you updates and highlights of how I’m working outside and inside of school.

next week is going to be three days full of fun and excitement!
YEAR 7/8 have been dieing to know what group they were in! I felt ecstatic becoming a camp leader for my third year running.
My group is called the 'RESPECTABLES'. I have no doubt that we are going to be the 2011 'Camp Take Charge' winners, that's if we receive the most points!
We are going to have a great time at camp having back 'Rock Up', swimming at Swimarama and finally having a heap of fun playing indigenous games with Mr Harris and play hard thinking games with Mr Barks.

It was a hot and steamy Waitangi afternoon, It was Bob Marley’s birthday. My cousin, My aunt and I were cruising on a 20min drive to Okahu Bay. Their was an annual “Waitangi Day Summer Festival”. My favourite two reggae bands Katchafire and 1814 were both performing at the festival, I felt ecstatic! getting to meet them sing live!

As I arrived, I was buzzing out with excitement listening to 1814 sing their hit song “My Dear Friend”. My cousin and I zoomed off to buy a heap of “Tribal Roots” clothes, My favourite two words.We headed straight towards the magnificent huge stage. The huge roaring crowd, danced and sang along with Katchafire singing Bob Marley’s ‘Exodus’ single “Three Little Birds”.

We had fun playing arcade games, Hitting each other with plastic hammers and enjoyed experiencing our first ever Waitangi day outing!!.

We cruised our way to the famous Mission Bay and had Great Tongs, and headed our way back home. So I thought to myself, I can’t wait to go back next year!!

Before we even had our market day, I was very very nervous because we haven't
finished all of our final products. It was the very last minute until all the tables had to
get set up, so I zoomed like cheetah to my classroom and started painting all of our cooling fans. My partner Casey saved the day by baking muffins and sticking Lot's of lollie worms on them, He brought it to my table and we started decorating them.

Their Forwards Line up is amazing,
They have experience Tongan rugby players who had contracts signed from around Europe.
The back line formation is pretty fascinating, players like Taniela Moa and the super 15 star Fetu'u Vainikolo.

On Friday we had the privilege of being invited to Mairangi Bay for the Surf Life Saving Ed.
We had an amazing time, We were getting tips of how to survive, learning how to save people but the most important thing we learnt was rips and tides. I was cruising with my boogie board on the big huge waves.
These 10 rules we learnt from the life guards are to keep you safe in the water:

1. SWIM BETWEEN THE FLAGS!
2. HAVE AN ADULT WATCH OVER YOU.
3. LISTEN TO THE ADVICE FROM SURF LIFEGUARDS.
4. NEVER SWIM OR SURF ALONE.
5. IF IN DOUBT STAY OUT.
6. BE SUNSMART.
7. LEARN TO RECOGNISE RIP CURRENTS.
8. ALWAYS USE THE CORRECT AND SAFE EQUIPMENT.
9. NEVER SWIM WHEN TIRED OR COLD.
10 AND FINALLY CONSIDER OTHER SURF USERS.

There is a huge amount of different kinds of spiders around the world, some are as tiny as an ant and lots of spiders are as huge as a human hand.
These scary insects have tiny legs called ‘pedipalps’ that are beside the fangs.
Spiders are known as the hairiest insects in the world, spiders are covered with lots and lots of hairs. They have 48 knees and has six joints on its eight legs.

When I receieved my netbook I was trialling I was very very ecstacic!
Today we were learning new things and had a little play around with it.

Our school was invited along with others to go to the 'Rugby League Four Nations Fan Day'.

I got to meet lots of stars like Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Billy Slater and even got a chance to have a photo with the legendary Darren Lockyer.

It was a chili morning and we were cruising on a long trip to Rotorua. I went with the Smokefree-Pacifica-Beats national champions Babylon Rhythm. During our trip we saw the beautiful farms in Matamata and we enjoyed the amazing sites of the beautiful landscapes and forest’s.

It was very long journey. When I saw the Whare, We were told that we could stay in any room so I rushed straight in and looked for the best room possible.

At Ten o’ clock in the morning, I went to the stadium with the boys and had a sound check before smoke-free-pasifica beats nationals.

After the sound check, we were all sweaty, smelly and exhausted. So we decided to go for a swim just next-door to our whare. I jumped in like a dolphin but swam like a dog because the water was so cold, I was freesing.

After the nationals finished, the next day was our final day to experience the whole of Rotorua. First up we headed past the Maori villages and ewwwwwwwwwwww it was smelly, but the carvings at the marae were amazing. Next we went to the museum and looked at some of it’s history. Our final stop was at the geyser it was the biggest, bubbliest, hottest water flow I’ve ever seen.

We said our prayers to go home safely and said our goodbyes to the owner of the house. We headed back to our hometown, Auckland.

I really enjoyed experiencing my time at Rotorua, I can’t wait until I go back!!

It was a very big day for me, My very first intermediate touch tournament.

We went to Dunkirk Reserve, Our very first game was against a pretty good team

which was Panmure District school. We beat them 6-0, Our defense was amazing along with our attack. We beat teams like Parnell, Stan Hope and Kohimarama!
We won all our games, but then we had to play our neighbours and our rivals Tamaki Intermediate, We had a draw which was 4 all. There were no semi finals or finals, It was just a round robin match so we came second, and Tamaki Intermediate came first by just one point.

Babylon Rhythm now known as ‘Babylon Riddim’ is my favourite Reggae band. The lead singers name is Charlie “Marley”, and the two vocalist names are Douglas and Mau. Their past achievement was they won the Smokefree Pacifica Beats.
Their new single ‘Reggae is my heart’ has made a huge impact on other reggae bands who wants to be a professional band.
Babylon Riddim reminds me of my favourite singer Bob Marley.

My group called Tui, had a task to do which was to list 10 survival tips when you are on a Life Craft. My tips are:

1. You need to practice getting into the Life Craft.

2. You must learn how to swim.

3. Make sure you wear proper clothing.

4. YOU MUST NOT DRINK YOUR URINE

or else you're get thirsty.

5. Take seasick pills.

6. You definitely need your life jacket

7. Know how to release and inflate the craft.

8. You have to cuddle amongst each other to keep warm.

9. You have to believe you are going to survive.

10. Make sure you have a plastic bag in case you spew up.

This is one of our tasks with multiple intelligence, which was to make a quiz about the famous mighty teen mariner Jesse Martin.

Eleven years ago Jesse Martin became the youngest ever to sail around the world solo unassisted.

He started from australia headed down past New Zealand and straight to Cape Horn.

When Jesse completed his journey there were more than 25,000 people to welcome Jesse home.

Every term our whole school will have a topic to study and find facts about. At the beginning of each term, our school runs an Immersion Assembly.

If you’re wondering what on earth is an Immersion assembly, it is when the staff members or the teachers dress up and present an act to us. Part of their act will always have to be about the topic we are learning about.

One of my favourite Immersion assemblies was when our topic was ‘Food Glorious Food’. When everyone sat down, people who sat up straight, Received a Sausage with bread or a piece of B.B.Q chicken on a plate. I could still remember Ms Garden one of our teachers at our school giving me lots of ‘Corn Chips’ with her famous ‘Guacamole’ during assembly.

Pt England is the only school I know that has the best Immersion Assembly’s.

This term we have been going to Tamaki College for our technology lessons. We have been working on our graphics projects, and as you can see, this piece of drawing was created on a brand new software called Adobe Illustrator. Ms Fergusson our teacher tought us how to use this amazing program.

Nickname: The Niuean speed star.
Born: 21st of May 1998(age 12)
weight: 53.6 kg.

Zane Keni is a very good Rugby League player and

also an awesome Rugby union, For rugby union

he made the Auckland east team, And for League

he trialed for the Tongan league team called Hakula

and got into the team and scored 2 trys in nearly every

single game they played every Saturdays for three weeks.

Zane is player you would want in your team.

2. Akuila Uate (winger)

Nickname	The Flying Fijian
Born	6 October 1987 (1987-10-06) (age 22)
Weight	97 kg

As a junior, Uate came 3rd in the underage Australian sprinting finals. He played in the 2008 Rugby League World Cup for Fiji.

3. Gregg Inglis.(centre)

Greg Inglis is a player who plays for the Melbourne Storm. His position is center, When the half-back kicks to him he becomes a machine and usually bolls through his opponent and score's a try. He was born on the 15Th of January 1987. He has played 10 State Of Origin game's 15 test game's and has 32 State Of Origin points. Greg Inglis is well on the way of scoring the most trys in origin.

This is my uncle Israel Folau he played for the Queensland Maroons, Australian Kangaroos, Melbourne Storms and now

winger but mostly wing. The commentators call him Superman
because how he flys into the ball and sometimes score but I just call him uncle.
He was injured after the Quarter-Final between the Broncos
vs HIS OLD CLUB MELBOURNE STORMS, but he rang my
dad in Australia that he recovered and might be playing
club footy this year.

I HOPE HE GIVES ME FLYING LESSONS!!

We had a very tough rugby game against St Marys. They were a

hard team to beat, their defence was very hard to break. But the best thing

that I was impressed with, was our defence, because whenever they ran hard on

us boys, we would go straight to their legs and tackle hard. Even though they were bigger than us
and they scored six tries, we still used our school korero "CHAMPIONS NEVER GIVE UP".

Hopefully next year we'll be harder and stronger than any other intermediate rugby team.

On Friday my teacher Ms Tito took the top three students of
last term for afternoon tea. Ms Tito took us to the beach
that looks across to the beautiful volcano, Rangitoto Island.
The three students were Gabrielle, April and I. The reason
Ms Tito took Gabrielle was that she was The student of
the term. Me, It was because I was Beautiful, Nah It was
because I was the Basic Facts Champion. The reason
April went with us was because her and the student of the term
Gabrielle were the first people in our class room19 to make a podcast.

At St Heliers beach we ate hotdogs, Burgers and Hot chips.

Fuifui Moi moi is a huge strong monster. He plays for the Paramatta

eels his Former team Mate Maa Tonga and now playing for his
International team The New Zealand Kiwis. Fui makes lots of runs
